What we collect
Only what you type into a form: your name, email, optional company and store URL, and the answers about your project.
We also run Ahrefs Web Analyticsto count page views. It sets no cookies, assigns no cross-site identifier, and collects no personal data — we can see that a page was viewed, not who viewed it.
Alongside it we run Google Analytics, which does set cookies — _ga and_ga_PCNCMGSK4X — to tell a returning visit from a new one. We use it to see which pages people arrive on and what they do next, so we know which parts of the directory are worth building out. We have turned off Google's advertising signals and ad personalisation, so nothing here feeds remarketing or an advertising profile. We don't run advertising trackers and we don't fingerprint you. Browser-level tracking protection, or blocking the cookie, costs you nothing on this site.
The homepage orders its shortlist by roughly where you are. That country comes from Cloudflare, which works it out from your connection at the edge and hands our code a two-letter country code — we never see your IP address, nothing is sent to a third party, and nothing is written down. Turn JavaScript off and the page simply shows the same list to everyone.
What we do with it
A brief sent through Find a developer is read by us and shared with a small number of agencies — normally three — that we think fit. We tell them your name, email, and the project details you supplied, because that is the point of the service. We do not sell lists, and we do not pass your details to anyone you haven't been matched with.
How long we keep it
Briefs are kept while the enquiry is live and for two years afterwards, so we can tell whether a match worked. Ask and we'll delete yours sooner.
Agency listings
Listings are compiled from public partner directories and from submissions. They contain business contact details, not personal ones. If you're an agency and want your entry removed, tell us and we'll remove it.
